Kibanda ya Sitawa Sponsored Two Nairobi Artists in The Black Spirit Artist Way Program 2025

Black Spirit Artist's Way - Nairobi 2025

This summer, Kibanda ya Sitawa sponsored two talented Nairobi women, Azadi and Karwitha, to participate in The Black Spirit Artist Way program.

The intensive residency, which culminated in the printing of a beautiful anthology, provided a supportive space for deep creative practice, healing, and community.
Feedback from the Sponsored Artists:
Azadi:
“Thank you for this opportunity of a lifetime… my writing voice has become clearer and I feel my potential blooming. A million thanks 💜

Karwitha:
“This workshop has met me exactly where I am… Having space to gather, read together, feel together, and write together is priceless. Shukran.”

We are proud to have supported these two Nairobi artists on their creative journeys.
This sponsorship reflects Kibanda ya Sitawa’s continued commitment to nurturing art and creativity in Nairobi, and our strong belief in the power of storytelling for healing and personal growth, values I have personally lived and written about before.
Seeing the program successfully end with the publication of an anthology makes the support even more meaningful. We celebrate Azadi, Karwitha, and all the artists who took part, as well as the amazing facilitators.
