Good morning beautiful people,
Hope you are enjoying this amazing March weather - hello Spring aka good vibes from here on (ok I know there is one more 'harsh weather wave' to go but we are ready for Sunshine all day, everyday...until the sun becomes too much :).
Also, happy International Women’s Month - shout out to all the mamacitas out here doing their thing...we see you, we love you, we appreciate you...keep on keeping on.
After taking a break from pop-ups over the holidays, I am officially back and had two events this past week.

The Pop-Up Experience
The first pop-up was at a college campus with more of an informational freebie 'spin the wheel win a prize' vibe, than a place to make sales. As a vendor, you need to assess which events work with your brand, and what you aim to get from the event. I will talk about this some more below, but I am experimenting with ads, and I wanted to get real life feedback/ gauge how this age group interacted with my products in real time (all factors withstanding).Stage - Ware Centre Lancaster, March 2025 |
Diving Into Ads and Social Media
When I went on pop-up break, I also went on social media break (yes, I still grab any excuse not to be on social media)...but came back during Valentines week to run a sale which I wanted to use as an precursor to our Spring earrings (was hoping the cards would be ready but logistics did not work as mentioned above).

Two things I am doing now, is experimenting with ads and scheduling. I recently discovered the Meta Business Suite (yes I was forced to relearn how to operate Facebook after more than 10 years). The beauty of the business suite for me is that it allows me to schedule posts and stories without needing an IG or FB app on my phone. I can do everything on my desktop, which I do once a week.

I will admit that I am still on the 'I am not sure what I am doing' phase of things, but loving the learning curve, and the reach possibilities that come with ads...part of why I did the first pop-up to see if the offline and online demographics match, and yes they do.
Besides the Meta Suite, I’m experimenting with different ad tools and strategies including Google Ads. Though I schedule stuff once a week, I am not deep into creating content - and most of my videos/reels are mostly B-Roll or the fact that photos have the loop thing that makes it easy to make a video.

My goal is to find the proverbial X, the sweet spot where my products are constantly in front of the right audience, in the most cost/time efficient way, get conversions that not only lead to repeat sales but also word of mouth advertising, so that I can use my time to hit the books and follow my dream of becoming a Professor. I know it is a long shot, but my hypothesis is that, once I find X, aka that sweet spot, everything else will flow.
Until next post, I leave you with this behind the scenes of me putting together one of our Ubuntu posters for Pop Up 2 Organizer...because we cannot b-roll it all the way, and have to jazz it up once in a while to keep the 'audience engaged'
Sending love and light,
Sitawa
